is a publicly traded licensee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.

Cross Blue Shield is the biggest health insurance company in New

and who are not eligible for employer provided comprehensive health
insurance. It features several benefits such as coverage for preventative
and primary care, emergency services, maternity care and physician
services. The program also covers inpatient and outpatient hospital
services as well as laboratory services and pre-admission testing.
Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Group Plan PPO is a flexible plan
that allows members to choose any provider, both inside and outside
the network. To avail of in-network care, there is no need to fill
out claim forms and through the BlueCard Program, members can have
worldwide healthcare coverage when traveling throughout Asia, Africa,
the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the South
Pacific.
Another popular program is its Senior Plan Direct that offers unlimited
in-patient hospital medical care as required, emergency medical
care anywhere in the world and free fitness plan enrollment for
anyone with Medicare residing in the Bronx, Kings, NY, Queens, Richmond,
Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland or West Chester counties. It also gives
members the benefit of unlimited routine exams, annual vision, hearing
and gynecological exams and immunizations.
Under its Direct Payment Health Management Organization (HMO), the
services covered include preventative and primary health care services,
inpatient and outpatient hospital services, and maternity care.
Direct Payment HMO/POS members can visit in-network doctors at a
lower cost while still being allowed to visit providers outside
of the network. Child Health Plus is available to children under
the age of 19 who are residents of New York State. Costs for this
program are fixed by the family's gross monthly income. This plan
covers preventative health care, emergency care, and prescription
drugs coverage.
TraditionalPLUS Hospital members get many benefits including outpatient
surgical facility coverage, inpatient physical therapy coverage,
maternity care in birthing center coverage, and inpatient hospital
semi-private room coverage.
