Jacksonville-Based Medical Service Company Acquired By Dallas Company A Dallas-based company that, among other things, operates diagnostic centers in hospitals has acquired Jacksonville-based Specialty Disease Management Services. The acquisition, by U.S. Preventive Medicine, will generate jobs locally. Financial terms of the deal not revealed. SDM awarded a two year; almost $10 million contract to provide disease management services to Florida's 8,000 Medicaid beneficiaries with HIV/AIDS. However, an administrative law judge last month suggested SDM's proposal be rejected and the two-year contract be redone, because Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration does not have sufficient information to conclude whether the company had the financial capability to execute the contract.
