Kaiser Permanente of Ohio received ratings of Excellent in surveys
by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the leading
reviewer of health plan quality for consumers and businesses in
the United States. The Ohio Permanente Medical Group, which comprises
about 300 physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, provides
medical care for nearly 146,000 members. Kaiser Permanente of Ohio
runs 11 medical facilities and is affiliated with 13 hospitals in
northeast Ohio, including The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. In 1999,
it started the Cleveland Heights Medical Center, the company’s
first new medical center in over a decade. In 2003, it opened a
multidisciplinary medical office in Twinsburg also. A combination
of Ohio Permanente Medical Group physicians, affiliate community
primary care physicians, and visiting OPMG specialists provides
the services. Kaiser Permanente is the United States’ largest
and most respected nonprofit Health Management Organization (HMO),
with about 40 years serving northeast Ohio. It can offer dependable

Each member can choose his or her own doctor from Kaiser’s
extensive network.
Kaiser Permanente of Ohio offers a number of health plans for its
customers:
Individual and family plans: These co-payment plans are suitable
for families with small children or others who make regular visit
to doctor. Size of co-payment determines monthly rate: Plan 20/20
and Plan 25/100. Its deductible plans are best in case you do not
often need a doctor but wish to cover large health expenses. These
plans are available in three ranges: Plan 500/1000, Plan 750/1500
and Plan 1000/2000.
Its HMO program includes all the health and prescription coverage
you expect from a health care plan. Employees get excellent care
and service, convenience, low co-payments, no deductibles, and no
claim forms, and all at reasonable prices. HMO coverage includes
outpatient services, hospitalization, medically required treatments,
and ongoing preventive care coordinated through the primary care
physician you have chosen and the physician's primary care team.
Kaiser Permanente’s Medicare Plus plans enhance your retirees'
Medicare coverage. These plans offer health care coverage, which
includes outpatient services, hospitalization, preventive care with
no deductibles or claim forms when care is received within our service
area, and low co-payments.
Its Added Choice is a quality health care plan that allows your
employees and their families to choose from four benefits options.
Members can choose to see a Kaiser Permanente or affiliated physician,
a physician from the company’s preferred provider network,
or any out-of-network physician or hospital they desire. It is the
HMO with the added flexibility of a preferred provider organization
(PPO).
Kaiser Permanente has entered into contracts with community-based
physicians and other medical professionals in Cuyahoga County (MetroHealth
network), Lake County (Lake County network), Lorain County (the
EMH Regional Network), Medina County (Medina County network), and
Stark and Summit counties (the Southern network). These providers,
together with the Ohio Permanente Medical Group physicians who are
based at the Kaiser Permanente medical offices, are referred to
as the Kaiser Permanente provider network. All these physicians
have been listed in the company’s provider directory. |
