High Marks For Senior Care, Low For Kids
Colorado trails most other states in meeting the health care requirements of children, while ranking among the top 10 when it comes to caring for the aging population.
Those findings are part of the 2007 Colorado Health Report Card released by The Colorado Health Foundation, a nonprofit organization aimed at improving health in the state, and the Colorado Health Institute, a nonprofit that provides health information.
The report card ranked Colorado using 40 indicators that consisted of surveys, public health records and Medicare claims. Report card grades, based on state rankings were issued for five age-related categories: prenatal care and infants, children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Here are some of the findings:
