Scott P. Serota, the CEO and president of the BCBSA or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association is very much pleased with the appointment of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as secretary of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. He said that they are happy with the U.S. Senate's affirmation of Gov. Sebelius as the new secretary of Health and Human Services. He is influenced with the secretary Sebelius' strong track record of headship, which is required since the country is going through a crucial period - from H1N1 flu to healthcare restructuring that provides coverage to everyone, enhanced results and controls customers' and companies' expenses.
He also said that Gov. Sebelius has been a supporter of extending access to healthcare and making it much affordable for a long while. He along with his company is eager to work with secretary Sebelius as well as members of Congress and president Obama's administration on complete healthcare restructuring this year, which is based on the current employer-oriented coverage system to provide extensive coverage to all Americans and develop the standard while reining-in expenses.
He added that this is high time for all who are interested in rolling up their sleeves and working together with them. BCBSA or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association along with its 39 self-governing Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies are looking forward to work with Gov. Sebelius and the newly built administration towards their shared target of making better, reasonable healthcare advantages accessible to all.
