|
Health care advocates requested Governor Strickland to increase healthcare coverage network for all those, who don't possess any health insurance. The Ohioans are mainly targeted so that they can avail this benefit. This article discusses this noble attempt and also the measures taken regarding this. On 28 January, 2009, Governor Ted Strickland was insisted by health care supporters to increase healthcare coverage to those, who are devoid of any health insurance. This step was asked to be taken when the entire country is suffering from worldwide recession and the government suggesting cost cutting. An association consisting of health care customers summoned the Democratic Governor, to increase healthcare coverage for the uninsured people residing in Ohio. The have asked the doctors, specialists, hospitals, insurance organizations, patients and other healthcare professionals who are involved in providing and receiving medical care, to share the expenses incurred, along with the state. There are many people who are disappointed by such a measure taken at the time of recession, but as per Cathy Levine, one of the chairmen of Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage; such a step for providing care is utmost necessary for the people of Ohio, who spent most of their time in toiling hard to earn their daily bread. The poor financial system running in the country at present is an indication for the urgency of providing care to the Ohioans, as soon as possible. In order to fund the assignment to increase healthcare coverage network for those devoid of insurance, Governor Strickland has proposed to obtain taxes and levies from the stakeholders. This, as per him will help in preventing flow of cash from the government's own reserve fund and also keeping pace with the current economic downturn. But it is promised that every stakeholder will get benefitted with the increase of healthcare coverage. It is also assured that every private health insurance company will receive benefit as there business will be rising up more through this venture. Those who will invest in this assignment of extending medical care coverage for uninsured will get their profit share. The recruiters of different companies are encouraged to offer health insurance to their workers, as they will get more efficient and productive work output from their workers in return. As per the health care supporters, the idea is to achieve the goal through the cooperation of all people. They met with Governor Strickland and submitted the formal petitions that included the attestation of 5,000 people and dignitaries. On 29 January, 2009, the Governor proclaimed publicly to increase healthcare coverage in the state, financing different schools and also on the budget. The health care advocates also requested the Governor and the policymakers to form a law, so that the private insurance providers are unable set up those regulations, which may discern the eligibility criteria of the new heath insurance enrollees. The idea is to allow the majority of people to access healthcare coverage. |
