Coventry Health Care, Inc. has undergone a strategic partnership with Rite Aid Corporation, traded on NYSE as PCX: RAD. Rite Aid Corp. is one of the largest drugstore chains of the country. This partnership intends to serve the members belong to Part D Medicare program.

The Part D Medicare program that has been created as a division of Title I Medicare Modernization Act, took effect from January 1, 2006. Coventry has placed a proposal before CMS or the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to proffer different Medicare Part D plans, across the country; according to the rules & regulations stated by the organization.

Following the partnership deal, Rite Aid and Coventry together have started synchronizing an assortment of educational programs and community outreach, especially for the beneficiaries of Medicare who want to know more about various Part D options that has been commenced in the Q4 of 2005. The companies have also started introducing in-store professionals to let the Rite Aid clients learn more about different Part D choices.

According to the CEO of Coventry, as a big countrywide and responsible pharmacy network, Coventry has already provided enormous Medicare Beneficiaries from different regions with a range of programs comprising pharmacy programs for the senior citizens belong to low-income group. And, now the company along with its strategic partner Rite Aid and its numbers of associates has started to involve Medicare beneficiaries in this Part D program.

As per the President and CEO of Rite Aid, they are very much pleased to work with Coventry in order to let the low-income seniors take advantages of Medicare prescription drug program. They are even happier with Coventry's effort of considering educational activities as the most important part of this entire prescription drug program. Since, the seniors know very little about the benefits of these plans; so they often need assistance from the pharmacists while selecting a plan suitable to their need and budget. Hopefully, Coventry is doing this job of educating those people with much efficiency and its attempt really deserves appreciation.

Rite Aid is the third largest drugstore chain of the country that operates almost 3,400 retail counters in 28 states of the country as well as the Colombia district. More and in-depth information about the company's press release and corporate activities as well as background is available on it official website.
