What is Medicare?

Medicare is a national health insurance program run by the US government. It was started in 1966 and is now managed by the Centres for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The recipients of this program are Americans who are over 65 years of age. Younger people who are suffering from some physical disabilities are also eligible to receive Medicare benefits.
